Gina Nagvajara, PhD

Gina Nagvajara has over 25 years of experience in the medical device industry, including experience in Regulatory Affairs, Quality, R&D, Product Development and Patent Portfolio Management. Prior to joining TELA Bio, Dr. Nagvajara was Director of Regulatory Affairs of Prosidyan, Inc. up through its acquisition by Johnson & Johnson DePuy Synthes. Prior to that she was Principal of SpiralMed Device Consulting, LLC, a medical device consulting practice and previously served as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at Orthovita, Inc. Dr. Nagvajara has extensive experience with regulatory strategy, submissions, post-market activities and compliance for Class I, II and III medical devices both in the US and OUS.

While much of her training and early experience was in the Orthopaedic and Spine arena, she has most recently worked with a variety of products, including General Surgery products such as surgical meshes, surgical hemostats, and lasers; and Gastroenterology/Urology devices. Dr. Nagvajara holds 10 U.S. Patents and multiple foreign counterparts related to orthopaedic and spine biomaterials and implants; and is licensed to practice patent law before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) as a Registered U.S. Patent Agent. Dr. Nagvajara received her Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Engineering degrees from Dartmouth College and MS/PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University.
